I’ve spent the last little while fretting over the fact that it’s nearly July and we haven’t been to the lake yet. Today we decided, spur of the moment, to head up to the lake.
It was Olivia’s first time at the lake. She was there last year, too, but it didn’t count because she wasn’t mobile and slept most of the time.
Lessons learned today:
- If it’s sunny, you just go. No worrying about whether those are rain clouds billowing in the east, or wondering if it’ll be warmer tomorrow. Chances are, I’ll say, “Should’ve gone yesterday.”
- It doesn’t need to be blazing hot sunny to go to the lake. Cloudy is nice, too. It’s the temperature that matters, not the lighting.
There are few better ways to spend a couple of summer hours than at the lake. That wasn’t a lesson, that was a reminder. It was a good day.
