The first (and only) time I saw Bob Ross‘ PBS program was after waking up in the hospital at about 6a.m. a day or two after Madeline was born. That was very early to be awake, especially under the circumstances. In fact, now it seems to me that it was a nurse who had woken us all up so that Madeline could eat. I was exhausted, but couldn’t go back to sleep, because the nurse was there with the flourescent lights blazing and buzzing, so I turned on the TV. And there was Bob Ross and his soothing voice. I watched the rest of his show. It was perfect. That peaceful, exhausted moment has stayed with me since.
After seeing the Nostalgic Epic Win, I went to YouTube to hunt me up some Bob Ross videos. I clicked on the video below, thinking it was the Rosster himself. It wasn’t. It was an hilarious spoof:
As it turns out, there are no legitimate Bob Ross videos on YouTube. YouTube is filled with parodies, but no real Bob. Not sure what that’s about.
