Did you use a lens filter for this pic, or does your camera have a setting to make the sky that colour?
Phil: I used a polarizing filter, which aids in making the sky so blue.
I should add that there was quite a bit of post-processing on this picture. I’m certainly not enough of a photographer to make my photographs come out of the camera like this. I was fiddling with the RAW (unprocessed, uncompressed) file, trying to develop it and I just started throwing sliders all over the place, resulting in an extreme, contrasty photograph. Then I took the original, normal-looking photograph and layered it onto the extreme processed one. Et voila. This is the first time I’ve used layers. Good times.
I would venture to say that no one is a “photographer to make my photographs come out of the camera like this”… post-processing is as much a part of photography now in the digital age as it was in 35mm.
